Programmed has an exciting opportunity in the Mackay Region QLD for a 12-month Business Administration Traineeship.

This is an ideal first step for a school leaver, or someone who has recently finished school, looking to launch a career in business administration.

Throughout the 12-month traineeship you will be hosted with a well-established local electrical contracting business who provide excellent mentoring, training and encourage teamwork within their business.

No previous office experience is required – just a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn. You will earn a wage from day one while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Whilst engaged as a business administration trainee you will be required to work in a busy office environment supporting a mobile trade workforce, where priorities can change quickly and attention to detail matters.

What we can offer you during your Traineeship:

  • A 12-month full-time traineeship with ongoing support and mentoring
  • Get paid while you learn – no student debt
  • Answer and direct incoming calls and greet visitors
  • Accurate data entry and records management
  • Assist with invoicing, timesheets and job paperwork
  • Manage filing, scanning and general document control
  • Order and maintain office and site supplies
  • Plan and organise your own work and priorities
  • Communicate professionally in the workplace
  • Use business technology and software, including Microsoft Office
  • Support the wider team with general administrative duties
  • Comply with workplace policies and safety procedures
  • Ongoing coaching, mentoring and support to complete a Nationally recognised qualification – Certificate III in Business BSB30120

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to complete the 12-month Certificate III in Business BSB30120
  • Available to work full-time hours
  • Reliable transport to and from work in Mackay
  • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate initiative

Other Requirements:

  • Genuine desire to build a career in business administration
  • Motivated and willing to learn with a positive attitude
  • Competent numeracy & literacy skills with Year 10 High school certificate or above
  • Professional phone manner and strong attention to detail
  • Part-time work, volunteering, school-based work experience or team sport an advantage
  • Commitment to complete theory/written and practical components of the qualification

Applicants must live in the Mackay QLD region to be considered for this opportunity.

Prior to an offer of employment, a pre-employment medical examination ‘fit for work’ (including passing a drug and alcohol screen) may be required.
